You’ve been invited to Thanksgiving dinner. No planning a menu, buying all of the ingredients, figuring out how long it will take for your bird to cook, stressing in the kitchen for hours over every single dish… You’re the lucky, the few, the guest. YESSSSS!!
So you’re enjoying your undeserved status as a guest and not giving one single thought to the big meal. In fact, you’re probably searching the Internet for Black Friday, I mean, Thursday Night After You’ve Eaten Another Round deals.
It isn’t until Thanksgiving morning that you realize you offered to bring the pumpkin pie. What were you thinking? A pie takes effort and this is supposed to be a holiday, right?
A pie takes effort and this is supposed to be a holiday, right? (Tell that to the host. I’m sure she’s lounging in a recliner with her feet up watching the big game – NOT.) You’ve got to deliver – and quick.
You’re in luck because my favorite store will be open and happy to help. The pie you’re going to want to bring is this one from their bakery.
The good ol’ reliable pumpkin pie. If I ever see it on the day later (don’t you dare use the word day old) rack – I have to buy it. So if you’re ever looking at an empty rack – it’s because I took it before you got there.
The pie filling has a wonderful amount of spices. The filling is thick, flavorful, and has a nice smooth texture. It stacks up well with any other store’s pumpkin pie.
The pie crust is a good basic crust. When you taste a bite with both the crust and filling – now that’s a solid marriage. They complete each other. You’d be proud to serve this pie fresh or day later.
Pumpkin Pie – The Bakery™ 24 oz. $3.48
Pumpkin Pie – The Bakery™ 40 oz. (IN STORES ONLY) $5.98
It’s is my youngest son’s favorite pie. He cuts a piece right out of the fridge and picks it up like he’s eating a brownie. No plate, fork, warmth, or topping for him – no sirree, just the pie Ma’am. I love mine warm with whipped topping on it and dripping down the side. However, you like to eat it, it’s good.
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Enjoy a big piece of pie or two!
See you at Walmart!
