This giant cookie cake would definitely score you points if you brought it to a 4th of July party. The flag on the top is a showstopper – so beautifully frosted. It flat out looks impressive. That’s why I bought it.
I love making and taking things to a 4th of July get-together that have red, white, and blue on them. But when it resembles a flag it gets attention. Who doesn’t love it when you walk into a party with an eye-catching dessert?
The Bakery™ 12” Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake with Icing 1.88 lbs. (IN STORES ONLY) $8.98
When I opened the lid I smelled a fresh cookie right away. It was easy to cut through and lifted out of the pan nicely in one piece.
The semi-sweet to almost dark chocolate chips tasted fine. The cookie itself tastes like their standard chocolate chip cookies but is very soft. You don’t actually get the texture of a cookie. And I wouldn’t describe it as a cake. It’s a thick heavily frosted soft cookie.
The blue and red frosting tasted the same as the white. The blue frosting temporarily makes your teeth look blue though. The frosting is smooth and sweet but a bit heavy on the shortening. There is a good ½” of frosting on top. I happen to like this frosting but a little goes a long way. When you take a bite of the cookie, the frosting dominates.
This cookie will look awesome at a 4th of July party. But serve it in smaller squares – it is very sweet.
Enjoy your patriotic flag cookie!
See you at Walmart!
