Create a necklace, earrings, and bracelet jewelry set for someone you love. My mom is going to smile when she opens this beautiful set. She will especially love the bird accent pieces and the beading.
You can make nice jewelry with cords, beads, accents, and a starter pack from the craft department (at Walmart). The bird accent set was so pretty. And I really liked a variety mix with pink and yellow beads.
Here is what I used to make these.
- Cousin™ Stretch Cords (elastic and thin plastic kinds from 4 pk) 48 ft. (IN STORES ONLY) $3.94
- Blue Moon™ Modern Mix Beads 2.47 oz. (pink, green, yellow) (IN STORES ONLY) $3.46
- Cousin™ Mother’s Day Accents (4 pc) (IN STORES ONLY) $2.88
- Cousin™ Mother’s Day Findings Starter Pack (179 pcs) (IN STORES ONLY) $2.88
You will need a towel, wire cutters, round nose pliers, chain nose pliers, glue, and scissors to put the jewelry together.
But don’t let this list scare you, it is not hard to make.
I show three techniques to make this jewelry in the directions. First, you need to twist the wire to make a charm. Next, you attach a bead string onto a charm. And finally, you tie a secure knot.
The best thing about jewelry making is – the possibilities are endless. You can change the type of beads, the order of the beads, and how you use the accents.
You need to decide on the order of the beads first. Then fastening the beads together goes quickly. If you make a mistake twisting the wire on a charm, just cut the wire and make a new one. There are plenty of wires in the bag for practice.
You’ll have fun making your own jewelry. It is easy to do, even if you haven’t ever made jewelry before. I makes a great Mother’s Day or birthday gift.
It’s so rewarding to turn a bag of beads into an eye catching set of jewelry.
