I bet you’d like to do a full body dive into this tasty dip. It sure attracts a crowd at a party – with the different layers and pretty colors.
We love the creamy bottom layer. It has great seasonings – garlic, pepper, dill, and thyme. The dip is topped with layers of chopped vegetables to scoop up with your chip. You can add olives or mushrooms. My husband likes jalapenos on it.
Carrots, celery, and cucumbers go really well with this dip. And it is perfect for tortilla chips, ridged chips, and thin wheat crackers.
You’ll need these items from Walmart.
Here’s how you make it.
Cream Cheese Layer. In a medium bowl, with a mixer set on medium speed, combine the cream cheese and sour cream. Add salt, pepper, garlic salt, dill, thyme, and cracked pepper and mix until well blended.
Scoop that mixture into a large 9 x 13” platter. Use a scraper to spread it out and make it even and smooth. Refrigerate it for 30 minutes.
Avocado Layer. Put the avocados in a small bowl. Toss them with a small amount of lemon juice (to keep them from turning brown). Evenly spread out the avocado pieces on the cream cheese layer about ¼ inch in from all of the edges. I made an outline first, then filled it in.
Tomato Layer. Put diced tomatoes on the avocado layer – about ¼ inch in from the edge of the avocado layer.
Onion Layer. Put onion on the tomato layer – about ¼ inch in from the edge of the tomato layer.
Bell Pepper Layer. Put bell peppers on the onion layer – about ¼ inch in from the edge of the onion layer.
Cheese Layer. Put cheese on the bell pepper layer – about ¼ inch in from the edge of the bell pepper layer.
Cilantro Layer. Put cilantro on the cheese layer – about ¼ inch in from the edge of the cheese layer.
Serve with crackers, chips, and veggies.
This recipe will feed a crowd. It is served on a large 9 x 13” platter.
Are you ready for this year’s Super Bowl?! Our kids love to watch the game and root for Dad’s favorite team. They make posters for each team. And the girls dig out their pompoms to cheer them on. Plus, we all love the commercials – especially the funny and heartwarming ones.
But the best part is eating chips, veggies, and dip during the big game. So, enjoy the Super Bowl – we hope your team wins!
See you at Walmart!
